Secunda Vita Pharma

We don't kill drugs. We resurrect them.

Secunda Vita Pharma acquires and licenses late-stage medicines that fell short in Phase 3, then looks again at the data to find a better path to patients.

The problem: good drugs get buried.

Many drugs that reach Phase 3 still fail there. Many of them weren't bad drugs. The trial was built wrong: the patients were too broad, the endpoint was wrong, or the dose was off. When that happens, years of work and human safety data get shelved, and patients who might have benefited never get the drug.

The opportunity is hiding in the data.

Inside many failed trials there's a group of patients who did respond. With modern analytics we can find them, redesign the trial around them, and give the drug a second life.

What We Do

Many drugs that miss a Phase 3 endpoint are shelved, even after years of development and extensive human data. Sometimes the drug didn't fail. The trial did: the wrong patients, the wrong endpoint, or the wrong design.

Secunda Vita Pharma acquires or licenses these programs, uses AI-driven analysis of the existing clinical data to identify where a drug may work best, and designs a new, focused trial around it.

Years of work already done.

Developing a new medicine typically takes 10 to 15 years.¹ A late-stage program has already done much of that work: discovery, preclinical studies and early clinical trials.

Human data already in hand.

Late-stage programs carry safety and clinical data from hundreds or thousands of patients. That data is where a second look begins.

Capital used more efficiently.

The median cost to bring a new drug to market has been estimated at roughly $1.1 billion.² Starting with an asset that has already been through clinical development avoids repeating the earliest, riskiest stages.

Our Approach

Highlighted cluster in clinical data
1

Find.

We screen discontinued late-stage programs for assets with sound safety records and signals worth a second look.

2

Re-analyze.

We use AI-driven analysis of the existing trial data to understand who responded, who didn't, and why.

3

Re-run.

We design a focused trial built on what the data shows, aimed at the patients most likely to benefit.

For Pharma Partners

Have a late-stage program sitting on the shelf? We'd like to hear about it.

We work with pharmaceutical and biotech companies on discontinued or deprioritized Phase 2b and Phase 3 assets, through acquisition, licensing or other structures. Conversations are confidential.

Let's talk.
