What is Second Life?
Second Life is a virtual three-dimensional community, created in 2003 by Linden Lab. More than ten million users are developing new buildings, spaces and events in Second Life.
How do I join Second Life?
If you never used Second Life, here's what to do.
You can join Second Life in 2 step.
1)The joining process that starts here will take you through a form where you'll be asked to fill in a number of fields.
There is no cost to register. You must be over 18 years of age.
First choose not to join a community if you feel you don't need to at this stage, by clicking "Skip this step".
Then fill in the username, last name, birth date and email address.
Choose an appearance.
Enter your real name, password and visual code and agree to the terms of service.
Choose a paying Premium account or "Skip this step".
Go to your email inbox and click on the link to activate your account
2)To enter Second Life you now need to download the software here.
Choose between Windows, Mac and Linux and save the *.exe setup file. Install the software on your computer.
At the first time you connect to Second Life, you'll be teleported to Orientation Island, to learn the basics about using Second Life.
